Belle Morte once again takes the world by storm with their latest release, “Black Waters”, featuring a stunning collaboration with Indonesian virtuoso, Maulana Malik Ibrahim. This captivating track marks the fifth installment in Belle Morte’s international collaborative series, where they seamlessly blend symphonic metal with authentic Indonesian sounds, showcasing the band’s unparalleled prowess in combining diverse musical elements.

“Black Waters” delves into uncharted territory for Belle Morte, presenting an evocative fusion of symphonic metal and the soulful essence of Indonesian music. At the heart of this masterpiece are the entrancing melodies of the suling and gamelan, brought to life by the incomparable talent of Maulana Malik Ibrahim. His enchanting guest vocals in Sundanese add an ethereal dimension to the track, making it the most romantic offering from Belle Morte to date.

Hailing from the picturesque city of Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia, Maulana Malik Ibrahim is a contemporary folk musician renowned for his mastery of traditional Indonesian instruments, particularly the suling and gamelan. His collaboration with Belle Morte showcases the seamless harmony of diverse cultures through the universal language of music.

Belle Morte’s visionary approach to music has garnered international acclaim, rooted in their debut EP “Game On” released in 2018. The band’s distinctive blend of dark symphonic metal with gothic and progressive influences, coupled with a melancholic vibe, has captivated audiences worldwide. In 2021, Belle Morte signed with Wormholedeath to release their full-length conceptual album “Crime of Passion,” inspired by John Fowles’s novel “The Collector.” This album weaves a compelling narrative exploring the depths of human emotion, culminating in themes of obsession, stalking, and tragic outcomes from both the victim’s and the perpetrator’s perspective.

Belle Morte’s innovative musical vision continues to evolve through their series of collaborations with musicians from different corners of the globe. Previous singles include “Fallen Idol,” featuring Finnish tagelharpa virtuoso Tero Kalliomäki, “Krew”, featuring Ukrainian bandura maestro Yaroslav Dzhus, “Exorcism”, boasting the talents of Mongolian morin khuur player and throat singer Ulziisaihan Horoldamba, and “Blame Me”, adorned by the soulful melodies of Armenian duduk maestro Lernik Khachatrian.
