São Paulo Death Thrash band Demophobia has dropped a crushing new single and lyric video for the track “O Chamado”. Produced by Alcides Burn the video helps tell an inportant moment in Brazilian political history: the struggle of workers in the ABC Paulista region between 1979 and 1981 for a better quality of life and greater participation in the country’s political life. The single was recorded at the traditional Family Mob studio in São Paulo with production by Hugo Silva (Surra, Desalmado and Manger Cadavre?).
“The two-year pandemic made the scenario very uncertain. We didn’t know what to expect from this return, as some of the band’s plans were postponed”, comments bassist João Medeiros. “However, we realized that in order to come back we would need a cohesive material, something that would put us on another level and that would show that we are not stuck in time. We needed to take a step further within our essence. Because of this, recording “O Chamado” gave us much more dedication and several new experiences, both in terms of composition, recording and production”.
