Hranice Abyss seeks to unite the visceral with the aesthetic beauty, from pure catharsis to sublimation. Inspired by these concepts, the band released their debut EP, titled “Aphagy”, released this year. And as the last promotional material for the EP, they release the video for the single “Pathfinder”.
The band concludes:
“’Pathfinder’ revolves around the search for resolutions in life. Sometimes we feel stuck in situations that we struggle to get out of, but something keeps dragging us into it and we feel it’s impossible to leave it behind. It could be family, love, relationships, friends, work, addictions – they could all relate to this song. The story revolves around a love relationship that is degrading because the two parties cannot understand each other. The location represents a mental labyrinth and the two lovers trying to figure out how to escape this relationship. The video is about the pain of seeing these parts in moments of total disconnection from each other, it’s about the process of leaving the end of the relationship.”
The fast paced rhythm and complex riffs can bring a feeling of anxiety where the lyrical themes are related. The video was conceived, directed and edited by the band itself, but the footage was by Guilherme Froes from Porduzip agency who made the video “Flawless Oblivion”.
