Leeds-based alternative-rockers Radio Aftermath are set to unveil its latest opus, “Custom Made Lizard Shoes”! The track will be available on all major streaming platforms and a video is set to debut on their YouTube channel which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtOnl4Dsp4inhqoM9CPHbgQ/videos
Pitching modern British rock artists such as, Jamie Lenman, Biffy Clyro, and the much-mourned Black Peaks against the likes of scene stalwarts Alexisonfire and La Dispute, Radio Aftermath are serving up a deliciously enticing musical stew, balancing aggression and melody with some delectable musical hooks thrown in for good measure. This is the second single from their forthcoming debut EP due in August, the first being May’s fiery serving of a Cup of Coffee in the Big Time.
Formed in 2014, Radio Aftermath consists of frontman Chris Dennett (vocals and guitar), Sam Moran (guitar and vocals), Rob Burns (bass and vocals) and Jack Craven (drums). After a turbulent few years consisting of stops and starts coupled with some ill-timed line-up alterations, the current iteration was born. Their debut single Kiss from a Rebel launched in May 2020 at the height of the first COVID-19 lockdown, followed by We Eat the Buffalo (November 2020), and Estranged (February 2021). From there the band managed to hit the road on their very own headline tour as well as supporting fellow Leeds lads When They Riot in late 2021. 2022 saw the guys hunker down to focus on recording and releasing new music, starting with May’s Cup of Coffee in the Big Time.
Now, with their debut EP release imminent, Radio Aftermath are back with their forthcoming new single Custom Made Lizard Shoes! The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band’s very own Jack Craven. The song is a hook-laden affair that manages to bring a diverse range of bands from Biffy Clyro to Tool to Deftones to Mogwai to Alexisonfire, and lots of other points in between, showcasing what the band holds dear; quiet melodicism, catchy riffs, commanding choruses, and stupid sexy bass fills. As well as a cheeky vocal guest spot from When They Riot’s own Tom Wallwork.
Following this, the band are gearing up to tour to support the EP once it’s released, and then continue to release new music regularly!
See you in the aftermath…
