It’s time for Sabaton to announce big news: the band is more than proud to announce the result of a mammoth project the Swedes have been working on for the past two years.
In 2023, Sabaton will release “The War To End All Wars”, a musical animated film featuring songs from the band’s tenth album, “The War To End All Wars” . This film tells stories from the First World War in an engaging way using animation and live action techniques. In doing so, he helps the viewer to better understand and grasp the background of the songs on the new album – and this in the form of a musical as well as historical adventure.
Currently still in post-production, this film was created in collaboration with Yarnhub Animation Studio. Sabaton has already worked with the responsible producers on other projects, recently for example on the animated story video “The Red Barons”.
“The War To End All Wars” takes this collaboration to a new level that neither the band nor Yarnhub have gone before.
Par Sundstrom says:
“We already showed an early version of the film to journalists during a listening session of our current album, ‘The War To End All Wars’ at the Royal Military Museum in Brussels. To see their reactions live was incredible for us – they were speechless – so we decided to up the ante and push it even further for an international audience.”
David Webb, Yarnhub says:
“When Sabaton asked us to take this project to a new level and work with them on a film for their new album, we were excited but also a little trepid. It was a massive undertaking, which needed new people, skills and techniques. But we didn’t want to let this opportunity pass us by. We always say that goosebumps is our mission and our work with Sabaton has always been the most successful of all our works. We have been working on this project for two years now , but after numerous sleepless nights and weekend meetings with the band, the result is truly unique and is a new way of discovering the album, giving a deeper understandingwhich intensely demonstrates to viewers and listeners the courage and tragedies of the inspiration behind Sabaton’s latest album.”
“The War To End All Wars Film” is an emotional and thought-provoking work – the focus of the play is to tell a story. With members of the band, real and animated, making guest appearances, a great deal of research and effort has gone into the creation of this profound and multi-layered story adaptation – something the band is both very conscious of and very proud of.
After two years of hard work, Sabaton fulfilled their dream of combining entertainment with educational value.
