Serbian heavy metal band Testimony premiered new single entitled “Titanfall”.
“Titanfall” speaks about the sinking of the RMS Titanic ship in the early morning hours of April 15th, 1912. It’s been said that out of 2.240 passengers and crew members, more than 1.500 people tragically lost their lives in the accident although the exact number of casualties is still unknown.
Titanic embarked on its maiden voyage to New York, US from Southampton, England on April 10, 1912, However, after just four days of sailing, the ship has hit an iceberg and, while at first, the crew members thought the damage was relieving, five compartments started to fill with water immediately leaving nothing but only one choice – put as much people as possible in the lifeboats (women and children first).
“Titanfall” is a tribute to all victims of this tragic event.
The song is a part of an upcoming concept album that speaks about big tragedies caused by human error, greed, hunger for power, partocracy and many other evils which left many consequences on human lives and/or planet’s ecosystem. The song and the album have a goal to awake the attention to man’s (un)doing that causes grave consequences on Earth endangering mother nature and life as we know on this planet. And if we do not do something and ignore this, the tragedies such as these will keep occurring.
The band states:
“As much as we’re happy to release this, there are some “bad” news that we have to announce unfortunately. Our drummer Nikola Sima Simonović decided to leave Testimony due to his dedication to his new band (yet unannounced) as well as due to some private matters. Although we are sad because of this, this was a mutual decision and it works the best for both parties. Nikola was with us even since the Thundersteel era and he is and will remain our great friend, our brother, our family! Therefore we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors as in musical career, so in private life as well!
The search for a new drummer didn’t last long and we are glad to announce that there is a newcomer in the band, but we decided to keep this as a surprise for all of you!”
