LA Prog/Alternative rockers Trope will be in Europe in late February 2022 supporting The Pineapple Thief in a host of countries, including Italy, Spain, Germany, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden and more. Fresh from releasing their most recent single “Planes”, Trope are set to strip down their debut progressive rock album and perform it with just acoustic guitar and voice.
At times sounding influenced by Tool, and definitely by all things 90’s alternative, Trope differ from a lot of these bands with the inclusion of a female vocalist. Diana Studenberg’s vocals are interesting and evocative, dancing on top of rolling rock riffs or yelping in reverb-soaked pain at the conclusion of an epic tune. Performing Trope tunes on just an acoustic guitar as the instrumental support can be challenging and will be very interesting to hear.
When asked about touring Europe, Diana says:
“It’s an absolute wonderful thought to be touring with The Pineapple Thief. I’m so looking forward to playing these Trope songs with just an acoustic guitar, and to tour with The Pineapple Thief is such an honor. Not to mention the opportunity to play our music in Europe, to these crowds. We are very thankful.”
Trope recorded their debut album “Eleutheromania” with engineer Mike Fraser (ACDC, Van Halen, Metallica) and mixer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse, Peter Gabriel). Trope guitarist Moonhead produced and Ted Jensen (Eagles, Dave Mathews Band, Pantera, AIC) mastered the album.
Trope’s music has been likened to A Perfect Circle and Tool with female vocals, their sound falling into the Art Rock genre. Their ‘music first’ focus pairs with the group’s sound, which is quite progressive.
The Pineapple Thief is a British progressive rock band, started by Bruce Soord in 1999 in Somerset, England. Over the last half-decade, The Pineapple Thief, bolstered by the involvement of master drummer Gavin Harrison, has rapidly ascended to the upper echelons of Europe’s Alternative Rock scene.
With an eye on making new friends and fans around the globe, Trope will be rigorously touring this coming Spring/Summer/Fall with a US tour with Haken and Symphony X and then a 10 date tour in the UK with Kings X in the Fall of 2022.
