Swedish masters of melancholic heaviness Katatonia reveal the final single from their upcoming album, “Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State”, out this Friday via Napalm Records! The near-ceremonial new track, “Wind of no Change”, merges subtle electronic textures with Katatonia’s enigmatic soundscapes, and arrives with an official music video. The band’s previous album, “Sky Void of Stars”, reached top five on the official charts in several countries, and the new offering marks the next step in Katatonia’s evolution that first started over 30 years ago.
Following shows at a selection of summer festivals, including Wacken Open Air, Katatonia will head on a huge headline tour this fall, joined by label mates Evergrey. Starting on November 11th, the tour features 31 shows in major cities across Europe and the UK, finishing in Katatonia’s home base of Stockholm, Sweden on December 20. Watch the official music video for “Wind of no Change” below, and make sure to secure your copy of “Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State” now – first formats are already sold out!
Jonas Renkse comments:
”Transmitted through dusk, please receive our third and last single ‘Wind of no Change’. The build up to the album has reached its zenith and you are elevated to the top of the soaring tomb. Sing praise!”
