Since its inception in 2014 as a mere basement project of Ryan Harig, Glassfield has evolved into a powerhouse band with a distinctive sound and a compelling narrative. Now, after weathering the storms of life and a global pandemic, Glassfield is back with their highly anticipated full-length album, “Leave a Light On”.

Originally conceived as an outlet for musical experimentation and creative expression, Glassfield solidified into a cohesive unit thanks to the collaborative efforts of Harig and Matt, who transformed their humble beginnings into something much greater. The journey began with their “Unwrought Atlas” EP in 2016, followed by a split 7-inch release in 2017, laying the groundwork for what was to come.

“Leave a Light On” delves into the depths of human emotion, exploring themes of loss, anger, paranoia, and ultimately, hope. Comprising eight tracks that weave intricate tales of personal struggle and resilience, the album promises to captivate listeners with its raw honesty and emotional depth.

Each song on the album offers a unique perspective, from the raw intensity of “I Loved You, Ruiner,” to the introspective musings of “Verses,” and the haunting imagery of “All Children See Monsters.” From the painful aftermath of betrayal to the surreal landscape of social media, Glassfield fearlessly confronts the complexities of the modern world with unflinching sincerity.

Recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago, Illinois, by Taylor Hales, and mixed by the talented Joshua St. Moblo, “Leave a Light On” is a testament to the band’s unwavering commitment to their craft. Mastered by Parachute Mastering, the album showcases Glassfield’s signature sound in its purest form, with each instrument and lyric meticulously crafted to perfection.

Ryan Harig’s soulful guitar work serves as the backbone of the band’s sound, complemented by TJ Miller’s impassioned vocals and Josh St. Moblo’s evocative guitar melodies. Matt Younker’s dynamic drumming and Britt Younker’s pulsating bass lines round out the ensemble, creating a sonic tapestry that is both mesmerizing and cathartic.

“Leave a Light On” is more than just an album; it’s a beacon of hope in a world shrouded in darkness. With its poignant lyrics and infectious melodies, Glassfield invites listeners to embrace their vulnerabilities and find solace in the power of music.
