One of the most influential names in modern post-rock, “This Will Destroy You”, will return to Belgrade for a special performance on the 13th of August, courtesy of “Nekroskop booking”. The acclaimed American band will take the stage at “Dorćol Platz”, where fans will experience two landmark releases from the group’s catalog performed in their entirety: “Young Mountain” and “Another Language”.

Formed in 2004 in San Marcos, Texas, “This Will Destroy You” (TWDY) quickly became one of the defining bands of the post-rock movement. Founded by a group of friends with a shared vision of creating long-form instrumental compositions without vocals, the band built its reputation on emotional dynamics, expansive soundscapes, and cinematic atmospheres.

Over the years, the lineup has evolved, but the essence of the band’s music has remained intact. Their ability to blend delicate ambient passages with overwhelming crescendos has earned them a devoted international following and established them as one of the genre’s most respected live acts. Their music has also appeared in films and television, introducing their atmospheric sound to an even wider audience.

The Belgrade concert will be a rare opportunity to hear two of the band’s most celebrated records from beginning to end. Released in 2006, “Young Mountain” introduced “This Will Destroy You’s” signature blend of soaring melodies, ambient textures, and explosive climaxes. Originally intended as a demo, the album quickly gained critical acclaim and helped establish the band as a major force in instrumental rock.

The second half of the evening will feature “Another Language”, the band’s acclaimed 2014 album that showcased a more refined and cinematic approach while still delivering the emotional intensity fans expect. The record reached No. 7 on Billboard’s “Heatseekers Albums” chart, further cementing the band’s international reputation.

Opening the show will be “IKAD!”, an emerging instrumental trio from Belgrade that combines elements of math rock, progressive rock, post-rock, and post-metal. Formed in 2024, the band has quickly attracted attention with intricate rhythmic structures, atmospheric compositions, and the release of their debut EP in early 2026.

Tickets are available online through tickets.rs for the price of 3.000 RSD, while physical tickets are available for the same price at “Zappa Bar”, “Pivski zabavnik”, “Pivopija” and “Supertramp bar”.
