Two weeks before their first headlining show in Serbia, Anthrax released the first single and video for the song “It’s for the kids” from their highly expected 12th studio album “Cursum Perficio” releasing on 18th of September on “Megaforce” records.

“Cursum Perficio” will be the first studio album from “Anthrax” after “For all kings” which released in 2016. The new album will contain 11 studio tracks, opening with “Persistence of memory” and following with “The long goodbye”, “It’s for the kids”, “Everybody’s got a plan”, “The edge of perfection”, “Infectious”, “NYC 93”, “Cursum perficio”, “T.O.M.B.”, “Watch it go” and closing with “My victory”.

The early stages of creating “Cursum perficio” started all the way in 2018 when Scott Ian stated they were in “Very, very, very preliminary stages. Charlie’s (Benante) sent around some really great ideas. But we haven’t actually started working on anything. We’ve just been too busy touring”. Near the end of 2018 Frank Bello claimed that Anthrax had intended to be back in the studio by mid-2018, which was derailed by agreeing to open for “Slayer” for their farewell tour, and that no writing will be done before 2019 at the earliest.

Finaly in 2023 “Anthrax” entered the studio to begin recording “Cursum perficio” with Joey Belladonna began to record the vocals in November and the production continued for another two years. Although the band planed for the album to be released in the fall of 2025, by the middle of the year Benante revealed that they had thrown out a bunch of material and decided to record new one with “some of the new ones destroy the older ones”. Bello announced in February of 2026 that the album would be released in May, with Benante later clarifying that it will be released in September wile the first single will be released in May, a bit later in the month both Ian and Benante revealed that “Cursum perficio” will be the title of album. This album will also mark the first time since “Volume 8: The threat is real” released in 1998 that the band had recorded more then one album with the same lineup, and the band’s first recorded entirely as a five-piece with the same lineup, since “Persistence of time” released in 1990.

The current line-up of “Anthrax” consists of Joey Belladonna on lead vocals, Scott Ian on rhythm guitar, “Shadows Fall” guitarist Jonathan Donais on lead guitars, Frank Bello on bass and Charlie Benante on drums.

“Anthrax” will perform their first headlining show in Serbia on 29th of May at Open air corner of Luka Beograd, with local support from “Quasarborn” and “Nadimac” thanks to organizers “Strangefear”. Tickets are available for the price of 5.700 RSD (plus handling fee) online through Cooltix while physical tickets are available on “Gigastix” spots and “Vulkan” stores.
