American death metal legends “Suffocation” are set to return to Belgrade as part of their “Southern & Eastern Europe Tour”, thanks to “Hengtajm” agency, bringing one of the most devastating extreme metal packages of the year to Zappa Barka on Wednesday, 14th of October.

The New York pioneers will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their landmark debut album “Effigy of the Forgotten”, performing several songs from the record that helped redefine brutal and technical death metal. Joining them on this stacked lineup are British extreme metal powerhouse “Ingested”, rising American death metal force “Undeath”, and Arizona’s old-school revivalists “Eternal”, making this one of the strongest death metal bills to hit Serbia this year.

Formed in 1988 in Centereach, Long Island, “Suffocation” have long been recognized as one of the most influential bands in the history of extreme metal. Their groundbreaking 1991 debut, “Effigy of the Forgotten”, is widely regarded as one of the most important death metal albums ever released, helping shape both brutal death metal and the future development of deathcore through its signature slams, technical riffing and uncompromising intensity.

Across nearly four decades, the band has built a reputation as one of the genre’s most relentless live acts, performing more than 2,000 concerts worldwide while influencing countless generations of heavy bands. Their latest studio album, Hymns from the Apocrypha, released via Nuclear Blast, proves that Suffocation remain every bit as ferocious today as they were in the early ’90s.

Hailing from Manchester, “Ingested” have become one of the UK’s leading names in modern extreme metal since forming in 2006. Blending brutal death metal, slam and deathcore, the band has toured extensively with acts including “Cannibal Corpse”, “The Black Dahlia Murder”, “Nile”, “Carnifex” and “Revocation”, earning a reputation for devastating live performances.

Serbian fans may remember the band from their previous appearance supporting “Born of Osiris”, and with their latest album “Denigration”, Ingested continue to push their crushing sound to new extremes while remaining one of the most uncompromising bands on today’s death metal scene.

Although formed only in 2018 in Rochester, New York, “Undeath” have quickly emerged as one of the hottest names in contemporary death metal.

Drawing inspiration from old-school death metal, horror films and high-energy mosh riffs, the band has earned widespread acclaim through albums including “Lesions of a Different Kind”, “It’s Time… To Rise From The Grave”, and 2024’s “More Insane”. Their combination of brutality, memorable songwriting and infectious live energy has made them one of the genre’s fastest-rising acts.

Opening the evening are “Eternal” from Phoenix, Arizona, one of the most exciting young bands keeping the spirit of classic American death metal alive.

Founded in 2021, the group first gained underground attention with the EP “Forsaken Memories”, before expanding their sound with “Faceless Evil” and their acclaimed 2024 debut full-length “Cryptic Lust”. Combining the aggression of the Florida death metal scene with Swedish-inspired melodies, “Eternal” channel influences such as “Death”, “Obituary”, “Gorguts” and “Entombed” into a fresh but unmistakably old-school sound.

Tickets are available online through Hengtajm ticketing with early bird pricing of 3.400 RSD, while regular tickets will cost 3.800 RSD and tickets at the door will be priced at 4.200 RSD. Physical tickets will soon be available at “Katakombe bar” and “Zappa bar”.
