One of the most important names in the history of progressive rock will return to Belgrade this autumn. Legendary British band “Jethro Tull will perform on 11th of September at Sava Center, eight years after their last concert in the Serbian capital, courtesy of Hengtajm agency. Led by iconic frontman Ian Anderson, the group will bring their current “The Curiosity” tour to Belgrade, offering a set that blends timeless classics with more recent material. The concert is envisioned as a special evening celebrating the band’s rich musical legacy in an atmosphere suited to the artistic depth and detail that have defined Jethro Tull’s sound for decades.

At the center of the band’s identity has always been Anderson, a singer, songwriter and virtuoso flutist whose unconventional use of the flute became one of the most recognizable elements in rock music. Formed in 1967 in Blackpool, “Jethro Tull” quickly gained recognition on the British blues club circuit before breaking through with their 1968 debut album “This Was”. The band’s reputation grew rapidly after a memorable appearance at the “Sunbury Jazz and Blues Festival”, helping establish them as one of the most distinctive acts of the era.

Their catalogue includes landmark albums such as “Aqualung from 1971 and “Thick as a Brick from 1972, widely regarded as classics of progressive and art rock. During the 1970s the band became a global touring phenomenon, known for sophisticated live performances that combined strong musicianship with theatrical stage presence. Across their long career they have sold tens of millions of albums worldwide.

The current tour also promotes the band’s latest studio release, “Curious Ruminant released last year, their 24th album, featuring nine new songs written by Anderson. Joining him on stage are longtime band members David Goodier on bass, John O’Hara on keyboards, Scott Hammond on drums and Jack Clark on guitar.
