Ukrainian trench-metal battalion 1914 have re-emerged from the depths of World War I history to once again shake the modern metal world. Riding high on the storm forged by their 2021 release “Where Fear and Weapons Meet”, the band has announced an extensive European tour titled “Anthems for Doomed Youth”, joined by Copenhagen’s doom-sludge juggernaut Katla.

1914, known for their searing sonic portrayals of World War I trench warfare, have become more than just a metal band. They are a living historical reenactment, each member adopting a military persona tied to real regiments from the Great War. Their music fuses blackened death metal, doom and sludge into a visceral experience that immerses fans in the blood-soaked history of the early 20th century. With “Where Fear and Weapons Meet”, the band delivers eleven tracks of atmospheric chaos, capturing the agony, heroism, and sheer terror of war-torn Europe.

Their upcoming tour will see them return to the frontlines with stops across Poland, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and several other countries. This sonic blitzkrieg will culminate in a series of major summer festival appearances, including Pitfest in the Netherlands on July 11th, Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Romania on July 31st and Metal On The Hill in Austria on August 30th.

Joining them on this thunderous campaign is Katla, the Danish trio whose volcanic blend of sludge and blackened doom has earned them a reputation as one of Europe’s most punishing live acts. Together, 1914 and Katla promise a night of history, fury, and heaviness that fans will not soon forget.

Whether you’re a fan of extreme metal, a history obsessive, or simply crave live music that leaves scorched earth in its wake, 1914’s “Anthems for Doomed Youth” tour is a must-see march into the past and beyond. If you haven’t crossed paths with 1914 yet, make sure to mark one of the following dates on your calendar!
