Legendary Serbian power metal band Alogia will celebrate 25 year of the band with a live show at Zappa barka on the 7th of March. Alogia was formed in 2000 by brothers Miroslav Mikica and Srđan Ciki Branković who can be considered the godfathers of power metal in Serbia, alongside a now legendary line-up featuring Ivan Vasić on bass, Damir Adžić on drums, Vladimir Đedović on keyboards and Nikola Mijić who’s wonderful vocal abilities graced all albums of Alogia.
Their debut album “Priče o vremenu”, as well as the second album “Priče o životu”, distributed through One records, are considered to be seminal releases in the Serbian metal scene influencing a number of young musicians, while their foray into international scene in 2005 with the “Secret spheres of Art” album featured two new songs written in English and their entire first album with English lyrics. While Branković brothers explored their other projects in the next few years, Alogia fans would have to wait until 2012 for their next release “Priče o snovima” which featured a different line-up and style from the second album which alienated a lot of fans with softer songs and inspirational lyrics. Their next album “Elegia Balcanica” in 2014 returned to their well know synthesis of power and progressive metal with lyrics inspired by history of the Balkan peninsula, which continued in their latest album “Semendria” that is closely inspired by their hometown of Smederevo and its history. “Semendria” also features guest appearances by Mark Boals, Ripper Owens and Fabio Leone, and introduces Nevena Branković as a regular member of the band on the keyboards.
Thanks to Panteon promotions, Alogia with support from The Fifth rider, are going to celebrate quarter of a century of their existance with a show to remember, playing songs from all albums which influenced their audience as well as people who haven’t had a chance to see them live yet.
Tickets are available in Zappa bar (Kralja Petra 41) for 1.500 RSD and online for 1.700 RSD
