Dark Tranquillity shares their thoughts on their latest album:
“Returning to what we feel is the essence of our band, with a partially new line-up, was an extraordinary experience. It gave us the chance to step back and evaluate what we’ve built from a fresh and exciting perspective. This led to an intense and focused period of writing, during which we rediscovered and expanded upon aspects of our music in ways we never have before. Joakim Strandberg Nilson exceeded all expectations with his drumming, while Christian Jansson delivered fierce and precise performances. The process was challenging, different, and ultimately inspiring in the best possible way.”

Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish melodic death metal band hailing from Gothenburg, a city renowned for its influential Gothenburg metal scene. Alongside bands like In Flames and At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity is considered a pioneer of the genre. The band was formed in 1989 by guitarist Niklas Sundin and current vocalist Mikael Stanne (originally under the name Septic Broiler). Early on, their sound was heavily influenced by thrash metal, drawing comparisons to Death’s early works.

Over the years, Dark Tranquillity has evolved, releasing 12 studio albums. Their latest, “Endtime Signals” (released in August 2024 via Century Media), will be showcased on this tour. This album marks the first appearance of bassist Christian Jansson and drummer Joakim Strandberg Nilson. All lyrics were written by Mikael Stanne. The band’s current lineup also includes Johan Reinholdz (guitar) and Martin Brändström (keyboards).

Moonspell formed in 1992 in the suburbs of Lisbon and quickly became one of the most influential names in European metal. Renowned for their unique fusion of gothic, metal, and atmospheric elements, Moonspell first caught the world’s attention with their underground EP “Under the Moonspell” and their landmark debut album “Wolfheart” (1995) released via Century Media. Their follow-up “Irreligious” (1996), cemented their place in metal history, propelling them into the global spotlight.

Over the years, Moonspell has continued to evolve, blending dark, gothic atmospheres with powerful metal riffs, and developing a sound that remains distinctive and influential within the genre. With a career spanning over three decades, the band has maintained a devoted fanbase across the globe, constantly pushing boundaries while staying true to their roots. In 2021, Moonspell released “Hermitage”, an album hailed as one of their finest works, with both critics and fans lauding it as one of the best albums of the year.

Their ongoing creative vitality and ability to resonate with audiences worldwide have kept them at the forefront of the gothic metal scene, proving that Moonspell’s dark, evocative sound continues to evolve with each release, captivating listeners with every note.

Hiraes, a German melodic death metal band hailing from Osnabrück, emerged in 2020, bringing together former members of Dawn of Disease alongside Britta Görtz, the former vocalist of Critical Mess. The band’s name, Hiraes, is inspired by the Welsh word hiraeth, which translates to a deep sense of longing or nostalgia.

Since their formation, Hiraes has released two compelling albums: “Solitary” (2021) and “Dormant” (2024), both under the renowned Napalm Records. With their powerful blend of melodic intensity and atmospheric depth, the band has quickly carved out a unique space in the melodic death metal scene. On this tour, fans can expect to experience the dark, brooding tracks from their latest release “Dormant”, as the band continues to captivate with their signature sound.

Don’t miss this powerhouse of metal! Come for the unforgettable performances, stay for the energy, the atmosphere, and the pure sonic devastation.
