Release date: February 22nd, 2025
Here’s the second full-length of the ensemble rooted in the country that no longer exists. In the period between 1090 and 1991 they recorded two demos and that’s it. Unfortunately, I know nothing about them – only their titles. Then Exitus disbanded due to military service (I’m not sure of that, but I suppose in Czechoslovakia it was as long as in Poland these days – two years). But if Vladan and Vit’a hadn’t joined Eternity after they return from the army, we’d certainly deal with coming back to life in Exitus faster then in 2018. Anyway, all the present members of the band played before, up to the splitting up of this band in Eternity, which means Exitus’ line-up didn’t change at all since they came back.
Guys, as most, if not all, of you probably guessed after looking at the cover art, classic thrash metal. As I mentioned before I didn’t hear their demos, so I can’t compare if there’re some bigger differences in their creativity from the first and second period of existence. But for both the debut album, “Liebyrinth”, and just reviewed one it’s more about Bay Area than German style. To be honest, I can’t recognize too many signs of the second one I just mentioned, even if they’re possible to hear – bands coming from our, guys’ and mine, corner of Europe, especially those created yet under the previous political system, always had more to do with Germany – it was much closer and easier to get music from there. Well, I know both terms I used are very general and there’re sometimes quite huge differences between representatives of, for example, Bay Area one. Exitus’ creativity is nearest to, to make it as easy as pie to you to know what to expect from “Killing Breed”, the living legend created 1979 in San Francisco. Of course, there are some differences, touches of other ensembles, but in general that’s what you get when you decide to buy this. I somehow deeply doubt I need to write what music is about. You know, stuff like: “riffs are sharp as razors”, “drumming is…”, “vocalizations are…” The reason is I feel everyone who reads these words knows very well what old-school thrash metal is about. And even what the difference between the Bay Area and German style is. And even if I’m wrong and there’s some total green horn among readers, I’m sure she / he will get a thing very quickly and since music is created to listen to, then… Instead, to make a long story short, I write only that everything’s here just like it should be in such creativity. Oh… I’ll tell you one more thing. While listening to this album, I felt like I was once again at the beginning of my adventure with metal music and I have huge problems to not headbang or even mosh! So, it seems from time to time my attitude is professional one (I can refrain from doing such things while writing the review – even if that’s difficult for me).
As I know, guys released, independently February 22nd, it also in form of a CD, so if you’re not into the modern technology so much, think, just like me, physical copies have the soul and so on, then you can enjoy it – for very nice price, by the way. To be honest, in my opinion if you’re a thrasher in love with old-school music, you should pay even twice as much as the minimal price! And this is about both digital and physical copy. Anyway, every time I listen to such great stuff released independently by the band I’m wondering if there really wasn’t any label interested in this. Well, I know there’s another possibility why it’s like it’s, but… Either way, the band is waiting for your support, so don’t delay a moment and write to the address below! I do it immediately, so…
