Date: May 30th, 2025
Actually, I planned to write the review of the youngest child of Peter and company much earlier, maybe even before the official premier, which took place May 30th. However, I encountered a problem that I had to face what took some time. And it’s not about the fact “Humanihility” is a very short, containing only three songs which take a little more than nine minutes and fifteen seconds. This isn’t also about the fact I had, and still have, many stuffs in line. It didn’t even apply to thoughts that came to me from time to time that writing about recording of band like Vader makes actually no sense, because everyone heard it for a long time. The only reason in case of this band, and another one I’ll review, is that Vader has never ever been for me, let’s call it, any band. What I mean is that it accompanied me from the very beginning of my adventure with metal in its underground form. It also played on one of the first concerts, back in the times of rightly past political system in Poland, I’ve ever attended (about such attendance at a concert of local band, in sense of those who comes from your country, today you can only dream about; I’m pretty sure especially for those younger of you, the number of fans present during this gig would be a pure absurd). In short, they were, are and always will be one of my metal gods and to write review of their stuff is for me something extremely hard. But well… Since the legendary Nuclear Blast records sent it, there’s no turning back and even more room for further excuses!
Especially since, unlike the most of still existing co-creators of Polish underground scene, Vader is very well-known for all fans of extreme music on the world. Anyway, and I know there’s many people who’ll don’t agree with me in this point, Vader still is an underground band. It’s simply, in my opinion, matter of approach and it has anything to do with the fact you play a gig for fifteen or fifteen thousand people. And that means regardless of what I write, it’ll be a truism and will even sound infantile, like breaking out long-open door. Everything has already been written, and as I’ve never been a supporter of writing about technical nuances, especially my competences in this matter are rather poor, I’m a little on the spot. Comparing individual materials to each other also, in my opinion, defeats the purpose. Either way, these three tracks (one of them was recorded alive during their performance at this year’s Mystic Festival) are another death metal masterpiece and that’s it! Well, to be honest, I don’t see absolutely anything revealing in this statement, because Vader has never, ever recorded even an average thing. I know that because of the reason I wrote about above, I’m probably the last person on the world who should comment on it, but… Since I finally decided to write this review, I felt up to it, you have to survive it somehow. Besides, if you don’t believe in my paeans, all you need to do is to find it online and see for yourself.
All in all, I sincerely and deeply doubt that there’s at least one person among readers who hasn’t heard it yet, but… If by some miracle you haven’t gotten your copy (Nuclear Blast released it both as a limited edition of 12”, and Szataniec as also limited edition CD; as I know 12” aren’t longer available, but I can only be wrong and besides Nuclear Blast can always plan to press more of them, doesn’t it?), do it as soon as possible. And if there’s no longer physical copies, you just must have “Humanihility” as a digital copy! I know that for such old-school maniacs as me that’s like licking candy through a paper, but… If you haven’t what you like, you like what you have. Well, this is everything what I wanted to write!
