Legendary Swiss industrial pioneers The Young Gods are coming to Serbia for the very first time as part of their European Appear Disappear tour, promoting the album of the same name released this June. The concert will take place on March 16th at Zappa Barka in Belgrade, with Swiss experimental act Tout Bleu confirmed as the opening band, courtesy of Hengtajm agency.

Formed in Geneva in 1985, The Young Gods have spent more than four decades shaping and redefining the boundaries of industrial rock and experimental electronics. Widely recognized for their revolutionary use of samplers as a primary instrument, the band played a crucial role in transforming rock music during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their influence extends across genres and generations, impacting artists such as David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, and Faith No More.

Their self-titled debut album from 1987 immediately drew critical acclaim for its fusion of industrial rhythms, ambient textures, and the commanding vocals of Franz Treichler. The follow-up, “L’Eau Rouge” from 1989, cemented their status as pioneers and is often cited as one of the most important European alternative releases of the decade. Throughout the 1990s and beyond, the band continued to evolve, exploring experimental electronics, drone, and trip-hop elements while maintaining their signature dark, hypnotic intensity.

Renowned for their powerful and visually striking live performances, The Young Gods are frequently praised for their improvisational approach and forward-thinking artistry. With nine studio albums and several instrumental and cover releases behind them, they remain a symbol of uncompromising creativity and artistic vision.

Opening the evening will be Tout Bleu, an experimental music project from Geneva founded in 2018 by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Simone Aubert. Blending electronic and acoustic elements with art-pop, post-punk, no wave, and trance-like rhythms, Tout Bleu has built a distinctive and cinematic sound. Their debut album was released in 2018, followed by “Otium” in 2021, which further expanded their layered and atmospheric approach. Aubert is also known for her work in experimental and rock acts such as Massicot and Hyperculte, while Tout Bleu represents her most personal and exploratory creative space.

Tickets are available for 2.900 online and at Katakombe bar (Knez Miletina 45)
