“Ashes of Ares” consisting of two former “Iced Earth” members vocalist Matt Barlow and bass player Freddie Vidales set to perform the cult “Dark saga” album in its entirety in Belgrade on the 6th of July at Zappa Barka, courtesy of “Devotion booking”.

Matt Barlow was a longtime member of “Iced Earth”  from 1993 until 2003, and again after the departure of Tim “Ripper” Owens, from 2008 to 2012, recording “Burnt offering”, “Dark saga”, “Something wicked this way comes”, “Horror show” and “Tribute to the Gods” in addition to “The crucible of Man – Something wicked part 2”, and has collaborated with John Shaffer in their 2020 project on an EP called “Winter nights”. Freddie Vidales on the other hand, who left the band in 2012 and together with Barlow formed “Ashes of Ares”, was a live musician and recorded only 2011’s “Dystopia” with “Iced Earth”.

To celebrate 30 years since the release of the legendary thrash metal album, they are touring and playing it in its entirety. “Dark saga” consists of 10 songs, a lot of which stayed on “Iced Earth” repertoire throughout the years including “The Hunter”, “Violate”, “Vengeance is mine” and “A question of heaven”.

While the mastermind behind “Iced Earth” John Shaffer was pardoned for his insurrection attempt on the 6th of January, he was left ostracized from his former band mates, so this will probably be the only celebration of this seminal release we will have a chance to hear.

Tickets are on sale at Rockfire record shop (Kraljice Natalije 45) and from Monday at Zappa bar (Kralja Petra 41) for the price of 4.000 RSD
