British heavy metal legends “Judas Priest” are returning to Belgrade after more then a decade for a spectacular show at Ušće park on the 28th of August, thanks to „Skymusic“ and „Live Nation“.

Heavy metal heavy wheights led by legendary frontman Rob “Metal God” Halford, joined by the only remaining founding member, Ian Pace on bass, are on their “Faithkeepers” tour promoting their “Invincible shield” album released in 2024 which dominated the rock and metal charts across the world. Organisers “Skymusic” and “Live Nation” say that the evening of the concert will be a pure audio-visual spectacle and a rare opportunity to hear the metal anthems generation grew up listening to during the bands almost 6 decades long career.

“Judas Priest” is a band with an illustrious discography spanning from 1974 and their debut album “Rocka Rolla”, legendary “Sad wings of Destiny” which Mikael Akerfeldt of “Opeth” claims to be his favorite and most perfect album ever recorded, controversial “Stained class” released in 1978, seminal releases as “British steel” and “Screaming for vengeance” in 1980 and 1982, and more thrash oriented “Ram it down” and legendary “Painkiller”. While Rob Halford left the band after, “Judas Priest” continued with Tim “Ripper” Owens, releasing “Jugolator” and “Demolition” as well as a couple of live albums. In 2003 Halford returned to the band and resumed his vocal duties, while the band released “Angel of retribution” in 2005 signaling a new course for the band, following with “Nostradamus” in 2008, “Redeemer of couls” and “Firepower” in 2014 and 2018, before releasing “Invincible shield” in 2024.

“Judas priest” lineup didn’t change much during the years, the last change happened in 2011 when KK Downing retired from the band in what was later revealed to be an acrimonious split with the rest of the band and their management, with current guitarist Richie Faulkner. KK Downing later reunited with former bandmates Tim “Ripper” Owens and drummer Les Blinks for “KK’s priest”. Just before the release of “Firepower” album in 2018 Glenn Tipton announced he was battling Parkinson’s disease and would largely retire from touring duties, with Andy Sneap replacing him and Faulkner handling some of Tipton’s more complex lead parts.
