Second edition of the Metal plague festival returns to Belgrade, Zappa baza on the 16th of May, thanks to Hellhammer promotions who assembled a line-up consisting of legendary death/doom, thrash and black metal to industrial/shock metal newcomers.
Headlining the festival are Dutch legends Asphyx, one of the most enduring and influential acts in Europe. Formed in 1987, Asphyx helped define the European scene with their signature blend of doom and death metal with albums like “The Rack”, “Last one on earth”, “Embrace the death” from the 90’s era with their latest release “Necroceros” coming out in 2021 earning favorable reviews with critics and audience alike.
Spanish industrial shock metal sensations Killus, known for their aggressive fusion of metal and electronic elements, known for very theatrical live shows with dystopian visual style. Killus have a steady presence at major European festivals since their formation in the 90’s.
Deavangelic from Italy represent brutal side of death metal with relentless blast beats and guttural vocals, also a major presence at European festivals for several years with a reputation of being one of the most brutal death metal acts. Also from Italy, Game Over are bringing their high intensity thrash metal act bringing back the raw sound of early 80’s thrash metal with a modern twist.
Local support comes from Kolac, a well-known underground black/thrash metal trio to give the festival a darker tone.
To close of the night is Eirc Huthence, a rare figure on the metal scene who made his name as a metal DJ and performance artist combining heavy metal energy and live percussion giving his act a signature style.
