Legendary Swedish doom metal pioneers Tiamat will finally perform in Belgrade for the very first time on the 14th of November at Zappa Barka, courtesy of “Different strings” agency. After decades of building a cult following and earning their place among the most influential names in dark and atmospheric metal, the band led by Johan Edlund is set to bring its unique blend of gothic, doom, psychedelic and progressive metal to Serbian fans.

“Tiamat” was founded in Sweden in the late 1980’s under the name “Treblinka” before evolving into “Tiamat”, the band became one of the key innovators of the Scandinavian extreme metal movement. Over the years, “Tiamat” transformed from a raw death/black metal act into one of the defining gothic metal bands of the 1990’s, constantly reinventing their sound with influences ranging from doom metal and psychedelic rock to darkwave and progressive music. Their 1994 masterpiece “Wildhoney“ is widely considered a landmark release in gothic and atmospheric metal, praised for its hypnotic atmosphere, Pink Floyd-inspired experimentation and emotional depth. The album remains one of the most celebrated records in the genre and is frequently cited as a major influence on countless doom and gothic metal bands that followed.

Throughout their career, “Tiamat” released a string of acclaimed albums including “Clouds“, “A Deeper Kind of Slumber“, “Skeleton Skeletron“ and “Prey“, each showcasing a different side of the band’s constantly evolving identity. Frontman Johan Edlund became known for his unmistakable baritone vocals and deeply atmospheric songwriting, helping shape the sound of modern dark metal.
